Few parts for tractor crazy price

Picked up some net wrap in an axel hub on the
NewHolland T4030 and tore the seal out. The
bearings were getting loose so we decided 2
beatings& races 2 seals and new steering shims
while we had it apart and a new axle nut. Anyone
want to guess the price before the reveal?
 
If it was a Fiat built,it shouldn't have been that bad. I sure can't complain about the cost of parts for my Fiat built Oliver anyway whether it's through Agco or Sparex.
 
Dealer bearings, races and seals? Probably $450 for them. Regular nut or fancy nut? I know the fancy little nut in a Case IH header drive gearbox was like $75
 
You guys are all very close the total was $800 and all the parts could fit in my coveralls pockets!
 
Doesn't surprise me at all. CaseIH/New Holland parts have gone through the roof in the last few years. And the equipment seems to need more. I have move away from the whole CNH franchise , used to be my first pick.
 
John Deere is just as bad. I ordered a choke shaft for a 48 B. The shaft is brass 1/4 diameter about four inches long with three holes drilled. $105.00. I could have made it myself with a saw, drill, and file and not cost over $5.
 
Had a gentleman on here hunting for a hub cap for a 953 running gear about a month ago. I had one, so I sold it to him for $20. Just happened to be up at the dealers a day or so later, and asked if JD still has them. Parts guy looked them up- $117!!!!
 
2 things about that front axle. The L.H stake nut is a L.H thread. Took me a while to figure that out the first time. Other thing is, those seals should really be installed with the proper seal driver. For anyone working on most any front axle (other than the one listed here and some Carraro axles, INSTALL THE INNER BEARING IN THE HUB BEFORE INSTALLING THE SEAL. Them seals are normally expensive, and you can't remove them without ruining them.
