Reading the "emon "talk below and Jon s post about how electronics multiply the possibilities of trouble made me want to write what i have said for yrs,. Who ever builds the warning bell chimes, bing-bong SHOULD BUILD EVERYTHING .. Think about it , That thing never fails , Even with a dead battery that wont hardly run the heater fan !,. i anyone ever had one that failed ? ,. i recall lookin at a Lincoln that was in a junk yard , windsheild busted bad front end and rear damage , it was totaled that spring , it wasdead of winter i opened the door and bing-bong going off , Amazing, In all that weather it still worked!
 
About 10 years ago, my wife was in a head-on collision. Thanks to the air bag and seat belts, she walked away from it, but the Pontiac minivan she was driving was a mess. The engine was stuffed up under the dash, and the battery was buried somewhere in the middle it. Believe it or not, the power sliding doors still worked two weeks after the accident.
