We got done early the other day so I took a couple of beers and the gator a crossed the road and rode a couple of rounds with the guy that farms the neighbors until we got rained out. It is a Deere S-690 with a 16 row chopping head. Nice guy and in my definition it is a family farm. He runs the combine and his wife runs one of the carts. Pretty impressive but I am glad he is paying the bills instead of me. I took the pictures the next morning. The last picture is of my Dad and his first sp combine---Tee

Big Tee, Nice looking line up of equipment. Nothing that big around here but there is a 45! Ran when parked not that many years ago.

S690 combine would be $300,00 by itself. The 16 row header would be $100 easy. The Tracked tractor would be Another $300K. The MFWD tractor would be at least $200K. Then the grain carts would be another $100K for the pair. So your looking at around a Million dollar line up there.

Good grief I can remember as a kid when the combines could run down the road WITH the head on!

Yes, They fit down the road... My Dad was very happy to get a used IH 2-row self propelled picker !
Years later, He traded it in on a Simplicity riding mower ! p.s. He didn't get much $$ for it...

I wish that round back 45 was close, I made a pull type sprayer out of a 40 and have been kicking myself in the butt ever since!---Tee

Big Tee, We saw my neighbors wife the other day and she said everything he owns is going to be sold for 25 cents a piece if he dies! These pics were the first ones I posted on YT a few years ago. The White next to the hay wagon is mine.

I guy i know payed 300000 and it burned at 25 hours . When they put the electric wires in they ran a screw into the wire you could see the bolt melted from arching. It got better the fire department arrive dragging the fire hose someone forgot to lock the reel

The machinery scene has really changed for sure. That corn head probably weighs more than the whole 45 combine with the head on it. What would that 16 row head cost? $5000 per row? $6000? maybe more?

"300000 doesn't even cover the combine and head."

We toured the JD factories and head quarters a few years ago.
The new combine setting in the atrium had a corn head similar
to that on it. The head alone had a list price of almost $500K.
The combine was over $500K. List price/MSRP of course.
I do not remember the model numbers, so possibly different.
