Anybody know what causes Fuyu persimmons to wrinkle on the end while still on the tree before ripening?

We have a Hana Fuyu Persimmon tree in our yard in Maryland. The persimmons get to be softball size and other than some of the fruit dropping before they ripen we've not experienced what you are. The wife suggested that you call Edible Landscaping in Afton, Virginia, (434) 361-9134 they are very knowledgeable and should be able to help you.

Now you gave us something to go on.
Persimmons are drought resistant but hate being wet all the time.

Another problem with persimmons is improper pollination.
There is some big word for it that I can not begin to spell.
It just means virgin fruit.
The fruit starts to grow but drops off the tree before it is mature because it was never pollinated properly.

I remember as a kid eating them off the ground. The ground was filled with them. Made you pucker up.
