bought a 580 case ck what type fluids do you use i run roteela 10w 40 oil what kind of hyd, trans and steering fluids would you suggest thanks

I think there are about 3 different places for oils. The rear end takes regular 80/90 or such. Then the engine uses the regular engine oil. The hydraulic I would use the same oil as my other tractors for standardization like hygard, hytran, or such equvalent. We use a 46 oil in ours since it is there and does not mix with other equipment. When it is gone I will probably go to the same as what the rest ues for again standardization. The Shuttle/torque section will take it's own oil or hydraulic oil such as the rest of the machine uses.

It is very important to use the correct hydraulic fluid in any machine which has clutch packs which your ck has. You should check your manual for that, or hold off on the purchase until your manual comes Some makes and models have special requirements. Be advised also that all of your tractor cases probably have some water in them due to condensation, unless the tractor has been worked hard recently. Just as water condenses out of the air onto the outside of the cases when a humid air front comes through, it condenses on the inside as well. Working it drives the moisture out. If it is not worked periodically you need to drain a little oil off the bottom of each sump every year and check for water. The Hy-tran type oils tend to suspend the moisture so that it looks milky. Again, working it will drive the moisture out.
