John deere 50

I was wondering if it is possible to add aftermarket remote hydraulics to my John deere 50. Is the transmission able to handle it? I was hoping you guys could shed some light on it for me.

The transmission is not involved with the hydraulics. Or are you thinking of driving the "remote hydraulics" from the PTO? Does your 50 have live PTO? Live PTO would be best if you use it for your drive source.

A complete three point hitch or a pair of SCV ? Oil pressure is only 1200psi or so and about 9gpm at max rpms . Won’t work on the log splitter if the wood is tough.

It did. I read this as a request to add MORE remote capability than the tractor originally came with. It's not a very clear request or explanation as to what is wanted.

I wonder if a Baker multi-valve might be what he is needing. Something to use a rempte at same time as the rockshaft? Or 2 remotes?

When you say "run a haybine" do you mean power it from the PTO or just to have a remote hydraulic cylinder to raise and lower it? There are already remote hydraulic outlets on the tractor. Are you wanting to add more remote outlets?

Whew. A haybine on a 50. How big of haybine, 7 foot? Do you have any hills?

You simply need to replace the dummy plugs in the powertrol and replace them with cylinder plugs. That will give you a single remote. Unless the haybine has hydraulic tongue, all you need is a single remote for lift.

When I was growing up, we had a 9 foot 469 that we ran on a 75 hp 3020 or 95 hp 4020. I wouldn't have dared pull it with such a small tractor as a 50. Maybe a 60 or a 70, but not a 50.

I've run a 9 ft haybine on a Farmall H. It would handle it if it's in prairie grass or bermuda. Get heavy hay and the crimper would take all the horsepower.

Assuming that some slob lost the operator’s manual. The good news is that manuals are available at Jenn Sales or at 1-800-522-7448. There are several pages of info regarding the hydraulic pump, SCV and rockshaft.
