1976 Loadstar 1800 tranmission

I bought a stack retriever truck that hasn't run in a while. After tinkering with it, the MV446 runs pretty good and seems healthy, but the transmission makes funny noises. I went ahead and drained the oil, and it has all kinds of stuff coming out. Aluminum ground up stuff and ferrous material as well. It has a T496 transmission and I was curious if you can still get parts for them. I see a few wreckers have them advertised on the internet, but doesn't seem like it should be that big a deal to replace the damaged parts. I don't normally work on trucks, it's usually tractors and was wondering who would have parts for it. Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Pretty common transmission I have see them sell for three hundred or so used maybe less. Only thing working on one you would know what you had but I,ll bet you can find a used one lot cheaper than parts.

I have a couple of trucks that look a lot like that one but there tandem axle ones not a single axle and both are twin stick 4X4 or %X4 transmission set up
