John Deere 4020 Broken injector pump shaft

I have a John Deere 4020 with a roosa master injection pump. The shaft on the injector pump broke. When putting in a rebuilt pump,
when the engine is at top dead center(TDC) mark on the flywheel, does the oil pump gear's little arrow that the injector pump fits into need to be pointing towards #5 cylinder or can it be pointing at the cylinder closet to the steering wheel (#6) to get the correct timing?

The V mark will be toward the block when # 1 TDC is set at the flywheel. MAKE SURE the pump drive offset enters the oil pump correctly, if 1/2 turn off it will start to enter then stop, leaving a gap at the pump/block surface. Have seen the mistake made of trying to pull it down with the nuts, then the head will seize and shaft break. Question, was the original pump hydraulic head pressed apart to find the seizure point area? If not, and the cause is unknown, I would not start it until you know for sure so it does not happen again. Dirt, water in fuel, injector stuck shut, high transfer pressure are some of the causes of seizure. Head seizures always make me nervous UNTIL I KNOW the cause..
