The cheaper the item the closer to your place the ads need to be,although I had a guy come about 500 miles to get a $400 parts tractor once,ended up taking 3 tractors home with him and the parts tractor wasn't one of them, so you never know.

Cheaper items Craig's List.
Higher priced items, if Craig's list don't work, try Tractor House. I look their when shopping for a newer piece of equipment. I don't mind traveling, within a couple of states, for the right thing at the right price. I went a thousand miles to buy a tractor, last spring was five hundred for a newer feed grinder. I'm sure there are others who have more time than money who will do the same. Although I have made long trips and came home with a empty trailer.
