had the box blade with the spikes down yesterday ,pulling basketball size rocks out. alot of jumping around. had the sheet metal off the tractor put a rebuilt tranny in and alot of work . replaced the gas cap with a vented one. all the jumping around gas came out the vent and caught fire. stopped jumped off threw dirt on by hand and put the fire out was getting ready to run. replaced gas cap with no vent. ran about 500 feet of pvc and water hose. start the jub. back up and worked till dark.

YES your very lucky!!! I personally know a fellow that was burnt over 50% of his body with gas from an IH gas cap. That is why IH had/has the program to replace them free.

Just make sure your tractor has an open vent tube. Whatever brand it is.

Recalls really do go forever with no end. I was looking for the correct cap for my ih and found on line a place that had me enter my address and tractor serial number. A few days later viola it's on my doorstep free of charge. The local cnh dealership told me 60 some bux.
