Chains for Kubota Tires

Does anyone here know how long the chains should be to fit the rear tires of my 1977 Kubota L185DT tractor? I have a set for the front tires, but the links come dangerously close to the grease nipple on the steering post. I know how much the chains shift around, so I would prefer putting them on the rear tires instead. I found a pair 11" X 74", but don't want to buy them, only to find out they won't work.
Thanks

It always amazes me as it seems no one owns a tape measure anymore ?
You can measure around your tire or across it and use the pie thing.

Now now chains are a bit funky to size if you don't do it often. Pick a spot half way up the sidewall, measure across to the other side in the same spot, multiply by 3.14 and add a foot or so for the tails and adjustment, thats your side chain length needed.

Now take some string and wrap it around the tread to the same spot on the inside of the tire, thats your cross chain length.

You can change that point the side chains ride on the sidewall to figure out different sized chains that can work but if the cross chains get too short you'd better have good tensioners. If the cross chains are too long they will tangle in front axle like you're seeing.

If you are running net type / norse ice chains the sizing gets harder, best to use the manufacturers guide or just try them out.

Thanks folks. Oddly enough I have a tape on my side all day long, as I own a cabinet shop.
Somehow I knew there was a little more to measuring for tire chains than just having access to a tape measure.
