Cheap Hay

Lots of hay for sale just saw an ad on CL for 4 X 5 round bales that looked like good hay for $22 a bale and they will load.

Same in my area, its gotten where you can hardly give hay away between the 1st of May and 1st of January, then the market picks up for 2-3 months. I been buying extra livestock every fall to use it up but I buy some hay also if I know its good.

I've seen some for $15 a bale here. It's almost worthless as a cash crop.

The last two times I bought hay it should of been cheap. Was supplying a dairy with four semi loads of hay each winter. The farm sold that I was renting so bought a load from a farmer. Got it home and seen it was moldy. Unloaded it and loaded some of mine and sold to him. The next load I got from another farmer. The dairyman call a few days later and said it was too moldy to feed to his milk cows. Can't believe what some farmers feed there livestock and then get them to eat it.
