Any opinions on Lucas oil stop leak? Also Lucas hydraulic stop leak? Will it work in my Ford 640? Keeps getting air in lift system and needs bleeding. Will Lucas seal that ? Read their testimonials and folks swear by it ,what say yall?

Probly dont have anything to lose by giving it a try, other than the cost of the Lucas. If it dont work, then its plan B. Something still going to need to be rebuilt. I have not personally had very good luck with stop leaks.

I reguarly use Lucas auto trans conditioner in all of our vehicles, I can tell the difference and transmissions run cooler.

The oil stop leak has additive that make orings/rubber/seals swell. It can some times make small leaks go away. Often the leaks will come back worse after time as the swelled orings totally fail.

I would fix it correctly before you make a larger repair down the road.

Sent you an e-mail as to using this stuff. Me NEVER would I try it again it cost me big time years ago when I tried it in a car engine and it clogged up the oil pump relief valve which in turn blue out gaskets all over the place and cost me big time

I?ve tried it once on a 94 Z71 Chevy pickup, rear main was leaking, used the stuff several times over a three or four month period, never did work, I won?t recommend it and won?t ever buy anymore of it

Depends on the leak. It causes rubber to swell so works sometimes. Most dramatic event I ever had with it was a rear main seal in an engine. It sealed that up completely after about a say and a half.

I don't remember the name of another similar product that I used a year ago that was supposed to be even better, but that stuff melted the seal and stuck the rubber right to the shaft. I won't use that stuff again (if I can remember what it was).

Lucas makes good stuff. But, it's not magic. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. In this case, the manifold is pretty easy to remove and replace the rings. That'd be my cure.

Replaced all o rings in hydraulic cover. Including all of em in the accessory plate. But we didn't replace the ones in the tube from pump to trans. Just checked those bolts yesterday and like everything else on this tractor they were loose. I bet it need o rings. Will try it.

I'm less familiar with the Hundreds than the Thousands but think those orings are square cut ones. Anyway, I always buy those kinds of seals and orings from the dealer. Had better luck with OEM than off the shelf ones.

Transmission ones all I have used, And they mad the transmision shift. Ford truck that is what kept it going while I had the truck.

Never used it in a hydraulic system.

Put some in the power steering on a 01 Silverado, leaking out the rack tube.

Completely stopped the leak, and that was 2 years ago.

Skid loader holds 30+ gallons of hyd oil. Gotta pull everything inside the machine to replace o rings in the hyd system. I put in a gallon per year. Never completely stopped the leaks but slowed it down enough so I can live with it.
