Hi, I just bought this tractor and was looking for some help in finding out exactly what I have and if anyone has parts I am missing. Tractor runs excellent just need to find out what all I am missing to get the Deck hooked up and operating. Thanks for any help.

I believe those were rebadged Jacobsons, Chiefs or Super Chiefs IIRC. Good tractors. You appear to have the electric clutch, they work fine. IIRC the lift system is all mechanical and consists of lift bars and maybe a chain, but it's been many years since mine went down the road. I'd search for an IPL for a Jacobson Chief and go from there.

thats a nice tractor! hope you find all the mounting stuff its well worth it to get it mowing, if its going to be a using tractor , or complete, if its going to be a show tractor, you cant buy one that good and tough today, most are flimsy tin and plastic, unless you move up to the top of the line models or zero turns, and they cost a lot!

Don,

You got yourself a real nice Jacobsen made Ford 100 (10 HP).
They were built from '66 to '71 at which time Jacobsen came out with a more modern tractor with a "tube" frame.
If that 42" aluminum deck is not cracked and has no pieces missing from the leading edge, you have a real find.
These are fine decks that will never rust out!
I have several of these "angle-iron" framed Fords including one 120 (12 HP) Hydro unit.
I really should get rid of them all since I haven't run any of them in ten years or more.
Quite a few years ago I picked up a sickle bar mower made specifically for these tractors by Didier, the hydraulics people.
It uses a hydraulic pump which drives a hydraulic motor which powers the sickle bar.
I never tried it but it is all there.
Anyway, if you want to e-mail me at goodfell at midtel.net I will scan and send you two complete mower parts lists; one for the deck "Housing and Cover Parts" and another for the "Drive and Cutting Parts".

Dad bought one of those in the early 70's. It had hydrostatic drive and electric lift on
the mower deck. 12 or 14 hp Kohler if I remember. It was by far the best riding lawnmower
we ever had. Never had any problems with it that I recall. The hydrostatic drive worked
great.
