Blading Gravel-organic material and other questions

Hey all,

Playing with my new box blade today. The yard is in pretty bad shape with quite a bit of grass, to where sod is actually starting to form. I scraped a layer off, but maybe not enough. The first picture shows a pile of scrapings with lots of grass and some blacker dirt. The next one shows the worst of the area after I've scraped. I'm guessing I should go deeper, but not sure how deep the gravel goes. The last photo shows a typical scrapings pile, with some tufts of grass in it.

If I keep dragging these around with the box blade will the lighter grass come to the top? I'm getting some gravel anyway for the driveway, but this looks to nice to just throw away. What's the best plan? Also (in case you haven't guessed), I'm pretty new at this so any hints are appreciated.

Here is the most grass in the gravel

This is the worst area as far as some grass remaining

Here is a more typical pile, with some tufts of grass. Should they be picked out? If dragged around for an hour will they work to the top? Maybe that, then a leaf blower?

I just spread it out on the drive way and drive on it. The grass will die and then decompose. Just keep on working it. That will keep it from growing back. After you have it packed down then gravel over the top of it.

Go ahead and spread it out. It might end up a little rough but if you go over it again in a few days after the grass dies and dries up it will work down pretty well.

I have a long gravel driveway, every time I see a weed or sprig of grass come up in it I get the roundup out and spray it, don?t like to see anything growing in my gravel

If all I had to worry about was some grass in my gravel driveway I would go nuts. Yup it will do both work to the top and dry out so it will disappear.
