Buying tires online

Anyone buy tires online. I have tire changer and change wagon, trailer and implement tires at home sometimes. Have always got tires at tire place or from farm store. Can you save much buying online as long as you do not need tire same day and if so where do you go?

I've found it's always cheaper to buy tires locally than from Miller Tire. Miller is great if you are looking for an oddball tire. Try Nebraska Tire. They stock many ag and auto tires at competitive prices and have fairly economical shipping charges.

I buy all my tires online except for rear tractor tires. I also have a rim clamp tire machine and computer balancer. If I know I am going to need tires for something I will watch different online tire sellers for a month or so because sometimes you can get free shipping or other incentives.

I buy most of my tires online. I just go to Ebay, enter your size, and surf. I just bought a set of 4 for my Dodge minivan. $236 for the set, free shipping and no tax.

I've bought truck tires online from Discount Tire Direct, but have not bought tractor/implement tires. The tires I wanted were not available locally, so ended up saving a small fortune by ordering them myself. Local tire shop had no problems mounting and balancing them for me - happy to do so.

If you know exactly what you are looking for online tire shopping might save you a little money but not much. I have bought tires online but it took a lot of time scrolling through the choices. If you have a local tire shop you trust they should know what tire works best on your vehicle and they might not be any higher priced than online. The tires I bought were for a couple of the farm pickups that don't wander far from home. The family van that travels quite a lot gets tires from a local trusted tire shop. I don't want to risk having tire problems 1000 miles from home.

Then what happens with a warenty issue?? Local tire shop for new ones. Used ones from anywhere.

I buy just about all my tires online. Probably don't save that much, but they show up at my door and I mount them when I have time. Otherwise it would be an hour drive to a tire shop, then sit and wait while someone I don't trust installs them, and maybe I can get what I want maybe not.

I don't worry about the warranty, by the time I mess around to get a claim paid, I'm further ahead to just buy a new tire.

buy everyone on line car,trucks,motorcycle,lawn tractor and 11r22.5 and save a lot but i'm set up to change my own never did buy any tractor tires. date of birth is better then i was getting from dealers

Purchased 5 tires online for my RV. Turned out to be the not so good China tires. 1000 miles down the road 2 separated, another blew out. Lost a day of our trip, but no RV damage. Last I will ever buy online.

I bought some tires recently from Amazon. They were 16" for a pickup though. Same BF Goodrich I can get at Sams and they beat Sams by a good $30 bucks per tire and had free shipping (prime).

There's no warranty, true, but the way they do now at Sam's and discount they blame any flaw on alignment or something and try to weasel out of it. I'll try it this way and see.

Local tire shop sells chingy ching chong brand and wants a lot more money than what the BFG's cost and no warranty or flat fix anyway.

Tires have always been a shop around item. Never any one best place to buy them. Seems online the shipping makes many I checked on not a good deal.

I have about got away from on line sales unless I can find a phone number and talk to a real person. Nothing is more aggravating than going thru the email hoop. This is were Amazon shines with there on trills return policy.

I've bought several sets online. All with free shipping. Haven't been burnt yet and saved hundreds of dollars. Only down side is disposal of the old tires.

We have been buying motorcycle tires online, there are so many different sizes and brands that the local shops have to order them anyhow, we might as well do it ourselves. The local shop mounts and balances them fairly reasonable.

I sell tires but be careful most tires online are out of date and illegal to run on the hwy so you are responsible---if you ask the online seller the manufacture date and they don't know they are too old---had a customer come in to get 2 rear tires --said the online site was cheaper --he called and the seller couldn't find the dates shazam---LOL

have been buying tires from the TIreRack for years and years both online and via their south bend store (even back when they were in one of the old studebaker factories).

i would trust them the most. they used to be impossible to beat price wise but others have caught up. they will also give you recommendations for a specific tire for you particular vehicle. not just one that fits. you can go from "name brand" korean made tires or up to premium top of the line US made tires.

i've bought used tires online from bestusedtires and so far the 6 i've bought (all Goodyear Assurance comfortreds) have been good/great on my old beater cars. would buy again.

note MANY tires are not made in the US anymore. not just china, Korea, mexico, guatemala, ect ect. My daughter just put a set of General's on her car and they were made in France.
