Today I installed an alternator conversion on 300 for a friend. everything went well but after starting it up and running 30 seconds it spit the alternator belt out. It was in bad shape and just broke. I need to get a new one on. How is the best way to get the
fanbelt off to get new alternator belt on?
Thanks Randy

We had a guy at work that liked to cut belts off, then he found out the new ones he had were the wrong size and we didn't have the right ones!

if it has a water pump like an H remove the set screw and back off half the pulley to loosen the fan belt remove it then put the new alternator belt on if its not like an H I have no idea sorry

google power twist belts. it is a segmented belt, you remove or add links to get the size you need, then hook the ends together. put one on my
farmall m last year. piece of cake!! the belt drives the altenator and char lynn power steering pump. way easier than taking the big belt off. just
cut the old belt off.

I just learned about LINK-Belts from a friend in the poultry industry, he told me that they started using them a few years ago and they lasted longer than regular V belts---so I did a little research about them being
used on belt powered tools because they lasted longer and reduced startup vibration.

I put one on my alternator on my Super M a few weeks ago so we shall see but it sure was easy to put on.

The guys I work with say they have used them on tractors and loaders and such where a lot of front mounted hydraulic pumps make belt installation even harder.
