Hand impact wrench

I've had a few different hand impact wrenches throughout the years (hammer striking) it seems they only last a time or two and something breaks...is there a good set out there that will last without spending the $500 on Snap On..thank you!

I have a proto that I have had since the '80s. Used to work in a bike (motorcyle) shop and used daily. Also have a Lisle that has a hand guard. Had it almost as long. Both still work. The Lisle is kinda long. Biggest hammer ever used on either is a 24 oz. May be using too big of a hammer and breaking them.

I don't think mine even has a brand name on it. Bought it from J.C. Whitney about 40 years ago. Never had any trouble with it.

I have had one for years and used it a lot on motorcycles and other machines, mine is a Craftsman. Must be about 40 years old

If you mean a hand impact tool all seam to work BUT all the bits will break... After years of putting up with broken bits I just brought a snap-on with the bits at least I can get the bits warranted no questions asked.

I have owned a Snap On for years. One of the worst tools I have ever bought. About 85% of the time, the bit breaks. I wouldn't waste my money on one. A guy I worked with had a different brand, don't know the name, when mine would break, I would use his. Didn't break his bits very often. I have 2 broken ones now.

same here, normally I don't like Crapsman tools, I've had my Craftsman hand impact sine 1972, one of the most useful tools in my kit, saved a LOT if stripped fasteners

All I've ever used were the cheap ones, never broke one.

Sometimes they will reverse themselves, you have to push down and turn it to the left as far as it will go to be sure it is in loosen mode.

But as far as breaking one, no. Now I have broken many driver bits, but not the tool itself.

I bought a SnapOn model in 1976 for motorcycle work and to this day use it for items such as allen head set screws in sprockets/shafts. Works fine for me.

I bought my first impact in early '70's from J.C. Whitney. I used it on the 1968 Suzuki 125cc Street bike I had.

I couldn't tell you how many pinched blood blisters I got from that thing. But, It always worked

500?
Cripes I ordered a Proto back in 04 and waited a month and it never showed up so I bought one of the Snappy truck for 160.
He replaces the bits for free.
