Mole issue now coyote issue

Don't know if anyone else is experiencing this. With the wet spring it has been a banner year, here in central MI, with moles. I've only had moderate luck with the scissor traps. I found that I was using the poison all wrong (not using enough) and by putting it in any tunnel I could find no less than 3' apart I've finally gotten rid of the hordes of them. Now my yard is being dug up all over the place by coyotes (I assume this because the yard is now full of coyote crap) presumably eating the dead moles. I would think I would have dead coyotes all over from eating poisoned moles but haven't seen any.

JF in MI,

I am too aware of the damage moles can do. Even overnight. I have a small area that I trap with the scissors-style trap. In so few years, I believe that I have eradicated more than 50 moles.

The scissors trap is deadly. But, every so often, I get a rascal, he does not burrow a straight trail, which makes the traps useless.

I got the crazy mole eventually, but I pack down the area to find his pattern.

Hope you get'em,

D.
