IH 966 hydro hydraulics

I have a friend who purchased a 3 pth bale wrapper and when he has it on his 966 hydro and lowers the 3pth arms the remotes will not work to run the wrapper. Has anyone heard of this before. I had a 766 gear drive nad never ran into this issue,

The same pump runs both 3point and remote hydraulics.I'd say there is a internal valving problem under the seat.My 1256 did that. I had to pull the top off(under the seat) to repair.Take the top link plate off, look up inside to see what you can see.

on my 1086, if the 3pt arms are ALL the way down (into the narrower slot at the bottom of the quadrant), it would make the remotes unable to raise the loaded dump wagon. does the 966 and wrapper work if the arms are part way up?

I'll go along with Delta Red. My 1086 suddenly developed those symptoms. The loader on the 1086 was very sluggish and would only work if the three point was all the way down. It turned out to be linkage under the rear end cover needed to be worked on. I didn't work on it myself so I can't tell you exactly what linkage it was.

I'm not sure, I asked him that this morning when he called but he did not try it to see. He said he was going to try it partly raised and get back to me.

He might be putting the hitch positon control lever down too far. The very end of the slot is action control range and it dumps the oil to reservoir. If his linkage is way out of adjustment it might also be touching that action control valve before hitch is all the way down. Have seen many tractors that remotes were very slow or not lift at all just because operator put the position control lever down past the rise in the quadrant that indicates action control area. You can feel it touching the action control valve if you are care full and know what you are looking for.
