Super A won't start

Head not leaking anymore YEAH! Trying to start it So I can warm it up and retorque.I checked all plugs, and have good spark. I checked and rechecked firing order 1342. Checked to make sure wires are on right. Put a little gas in spark plug holes, tractor will fire, but won't run from carb. There is gas in. The tank. I took drain plug out of carb, there is gas in the carb. When I rebuilt carb, maybe I missed something. It's a zenith. Did not use spring on needle and seat inside carb as there is no way to attach ( didn't have one on at first either) I have idle screw set at (All the way in and out 1.5) I had a 1/8 " plug missing from the new exhaust manifold. Took the one out of the old manifold and put in the new. Could it be leaking air between manifold gaskets? I'm thinking more of a carb problem. Any help is always appreciated.

Give carburetor a good smack.

Pull choke all the way out, crank a bit, if plugs not soaked and gas not running out carb drain, it is not getting fue.

Sounds like a carb problem if you can make it run with gas in the cylinders.

Try taking the air filter hose off, watch that the choke is fully closing. Disconnect the coil wire, hold your hand tightly over the carb inlet, crank the engine through a few seconds.

You should feel a strong vacuum on your hand, and have wet gas on you hand.

If no vacuum, there is a valve or valve timing problem, or a major vacuum leak.

If vacuum and no gas, there is a blockage in the main fuel circuit, or the carb bowl is empty.

You are sure there is gas in the tank, not diesel or something else? Not being mean, but seen it happen too many times!

check the compression? and are the valves set correctly? that very important step is not even mentioned, or the lash setting.do you know how to set valves? do you have a new manifold gasket??? as this seams to be popping up all the time about a manifold leak. if the manifold is leaking get it planned at a machine shop.have you checked the surfaces to see that they are flat.? should be a main jet adjustment on carb . you are not rebuilding the carb,... you are cleaning it.a rebuilt carb you buy as rebuilt, more is done than the cleaning.
