I am looking at putting new 11.2 x 28 tires on my Case VA. Should be able to reuse the tubes. Got the following prices for tires and installation: Alliance 8 ply - $490, Samson 4 ply - $490, BKT 8 ply - $520, and Carlisle 6 ply - $550. Does anyone have any advice as to which would be the best choice? Tractor is used for plowing snow and light yard work. Might try to do a plow day or some pulls, but nothing really serious - just have it for some fun. Thanks.

I really, really like the BKT I bought for my Case cx100. 18-4-34. Yes they cost a little more but this is my planter-cultivator-loader tractor so it gets used a lot and they are holding up and wearing very well for the hours I have on them.

I had a pair of BKT 11.2 x 28's installed with new tubes for $500.
That was me taking the rims to them, ready for installation.
I'm in South central Michigan. Whatever you decide, I would
put in new tubes unless you're willing to risk doing it twice.
Old tubes still hold air, but they dry rot just like the tires.

eliminate the chinese ones first. never heard a good word on them yet. dont think you would need high ply's or a hard tire on a little VA . need traction.

Unless the tubes are less than a year or two old I would replace they as well. I almost never re-use old tubes.

The repair guy here WON'T put an old tube in one. I had a year old tube in one. He put a new tire on it Tuesday and put another new tube in it. It's not that he's a high priced guy or high pressure, just said he will guarantee a new one and can't with a used one.

An 8 ply seems like a lot of overkill on a tractor that size. I think I'd just be shopping price on one that small, but they're all way overpriced in my opinion. I had a new 15.5 38 Carlisle put on last Tuesday. It was $398 for the tire. The tire was loaded. With tire, tube, trip and labor the total was $596.

I bought them at Discount Tire in Fowler.
They will send you a quote via email if you ask on their website.

If I asked him to. He patched one one time and it went flat. He didn't know if he pinched it the first time or what. He said he'd fix it again one time without charging me,but if it happened again,he'd charge to come back. He patched it again and it held.
