Case triple range

My triple range gears will not slide on the shaft of the 430 case ,.,. always sounded and worked
fine ..,then a fork broke , i changed the correct fork ,and all works like it should,.. except i cant
slide the front cluster into neutral in order to alighn the forks astride the gear groove i,,.
never had this trouble before , it is stuck in direct drive ..

Jim, saw your post over on Case forum. You are missing something obvious. That cluster should move freely and you need to get the fork into the grove. You can't run the tractor without the fork properly located.
Have you closely looked at the rails and interlocks located in the shifting cover. Your problem may well be there. Go back and double check things.

Thank , You , LOREN ,...it troubles me that no one pikt me up over there at CASE ,aint the 1st time . never had any luck with hydraulic issues over there either . i Guess they figured i was crazy or just plain stupid .. at this time, i have not moved the 430 over 15 feet in direct drive ,..the fork is a perfect match,.and there is only one way it can be CORRECTLY installed .And i agree,. the 430 should not be used in this condition,
I Fear This is my problem ???there is a small possibility of a tiny 1/16th inch or even smaller triangle of MISSING steel from the fork being wedged someplace on the gear cluster,. , you know and i know if there is any play and wear in the gears and shafts and that fleck of steel got in there just rite , that it could cog lok it ..i have tried bumpin the cluster, it barely moves , ALSO pryed with a crow bar, and i will not put undue presssure on i t . perhaps if i took off the new fork , and left low in place on the rearward gear ? and run it tinkering around with oil it would slide out and get happy , but i better go slow because i think that the forward gears are hi and direct range , am i RITE . surely someone has fought this before . just trying to figure out the best way to remedy the trouble. you can call if you like 812-596-4605 , thanx jim

no cant agree , it worked normal as all the other 430;s here , the fork broke as i topt the hill and shifted to hi range .,. and no go to hi ,stayed in direct, and kinda rattled the last 500 ft to the barn .... the previous downshift from hi to direct was typical, with no indication of trouble .. the forward gear cluster will not slide as it should on the shaft to neutral position . i have fixt these forks on 300s,530s ,430s, a half dozen times over the last 45 yrs . and i never had this trouble .,,.
