Irrigation pumps running

Things are so dry, a lot of the farmers are pumping water. The beans close to camera are too far from irrigation boom. They are turning brown. The beans that have been getting a drink are still green.

They are running non stop in beans around here. The corn is done in most places and harvest will start soon. I checked some of my early car at 21% today. We get 1.25 inches Friday from Harvey so beans really look better. I did have to pull 2 people out of the mud today...ill post so pic tomorrow.

It's September. Soybeans should be turning brown now.
I am just a few miles east of you and don't see the dry conditions you claim Terre Haute has.

They are not running the pumps to irrigate. They are running them to move irrigation system into position for harvesting and field work.
Just a FYI

Only the real old ones required water in them to move... that design was eliminated in about 1970, and very few are left. The one pictured is a newer design with electric movement.

There are 5 pumps running for days in one mile stretch of road. Those beans are green. It isn't cheap to run them, so why would a farmer be spending money if it isn't doing any good.

Do you need a pic of yards that are toast?

My boy in Plainfield is planning on reseeding his yard, it toast too.
