Reminds me of some you tube clips I was watching. Search for old diesel engine start up. Many different vintage engines shown starting and running.

That very tractor at least an identical one on rubber was at Albert city. An 86 year old gent owned it. He pulled that one and a gas one in the tractor pull. Didn't do to bad with them either.

that motor was sorta a case design. They were made in a joint venture called consolidated diesel in North Carolina. All of the industrial 5.9 were made there as well as some on road for trucks. The automotive version was made and still is in Indiana.

I find that interesting --but I got a sore neck reading it LOL and thanks for something a lot of us didnt know ___ Roy

Don't know why it got turned. I got alot of pics of the old cummins powered cars also.

I am assuming by where you are located and previous post you could have built that motor in your garage just like Johny Cash. If you have a sturdy lunch pail

Don't think I'd want to try carrying that engine block in my lunch pail. I suspect it's a bit heavier than Cash's Cadillac.

That was 1933, I was born 40 years later! I have seen several of the engines and they are heavy.
