$11 metal ammo cans at Rural King.

Last week RK had 12% mail in rebate off everything in store. The store price for ammo cans are $11 before rebate. I find the cans make a nice tool box for tractor.

Also picked up 5 quarts RK 5w30 full synthetic for $10. Took a short 1500 mile trip in car last month. Noticed mileage improved a little using full synthetic, 24.5 mpg in old Buick.

I also use full synthetic in my Jubilee. It's a clean running engine. I also watch for the color of oil to turn dark before changing. This oil seems to stay cleaner a little longer.

Does your Buick have a 3.8 V6 ? on a trip you should be able to hit 30 to 32 MPG. 24.5 is what we got on those back and forth to work and around town.

I've had 3 Park Avenues and an Olds Regency with 3.8's, and the best I've gotten is a shade over 26 highway (on the '98 Olds- the Park Avenues were older and didn't get over 25). I've found the mileage they show on the computer system is always a little optimistic- you have to calculate it the old fashioned way to get a true reading.

Had a 87 Buick Park Avenue with 3.8 V6 that got 30 MPG.That car got its best gas milage on the interstate doing 70 mph. I now have a 06 Chevy Impala with the 3.9 variable timed V6 and get 31 MPG open road driving.

Mike,
EPA rated mine lower in 2005. I never did get much better than 26 going 55. Much less at 75 on interstate.
Google 2005 Buick rendezvou, not sure of spelling. .

Sad you can't find something better to say. Guess you feel better putting people down. That's what is called being a BIG TEE BULLY.
GROW up.

Ha! I didn't think about that! I do carry my 12 gauge most of the time, for rodents. Most of the time I am out in the woods by myself miles from the nearest house.

You have a Rendezvou ! I don't need to google them as I worked in parts at the GM dealer for several years back then. I know how many problems those have ! LOL. How many sets of wheel bearings have you been through ? Intake gaskets ? rocker arm retainers broken ? (not that common)

Dad had a 92 olds 98 and it got better the faster you went on a trip. I think his best was 32 mpg. 24-25 around town.

Actually it's the cheapest way I can buy the ammunition. Of course I could sell the ammo cans. But the price per round is cheapest with the can at gun shows.

Front right wheel bearing only. Everything was checked out before I went to Florida this March. Mechanic I trust replaced plugs, wires, air filter, cleaned MAP and throttle plate. He was the one that heard wheel bearing talking, I couldn't, bad hearing.

I would pay you if you could get 30 mpg out of her. Bought it new in 2005. Only had 80 k on it. I even replace all brake pads thinking they may be dragging. Solid running car. Doesn't burn a drop of oil. It's mostly my traveling car. George

When I read Buick I was thinking Lesabre with the 3.8 those do really well. If I knew you had a Rendezvous I'd of sent a sympathy card. LOL.

HaHa. Dr told me in 2004 to get rid of my caddy and buy a pickup or SUV, back issues. Already had a pickup and a 15 year old Dodge mini van which was falling apart. Got tired repairing the mini van. Got rid of both Caddy and mini van and bought a new Rendezvous because it was kind to my back. So far I haven't found a car that fits my back like the Rendezvous. I'm happy with getting 24.5 mpg at 75 mph. The Rendezvous pushes a lot of air out of the way. A lower profile car would get better mpg.

Brake pad wont hurt your mileage but the independent trade papers were saying the calipers with a 1000,000. miles were defiantly causing pad drag.
The seals on the pistons are square cut not round. That is so the pistons/pads retract from the rotor.
