can anyone help me with details on 4 tractors at the sale I am interested in --called polks 3 times said they were to busy --may have to wait for a better auction sale like aumanns or mecums---seems polks is a pretty shoddy run sale

I've never done business with them but my impression is that if you are not a high profile buyer then the effort to help is minimal. I called a local auctioneer many years ago about an (big) item in his sale and he was extremely rude about it. Not returning calls or responding to requests seems very typical in that business.

I went to there sale last year.I started a jd 530 to see if the Ps worked. One of the employees grabbed my arm and told me to get off the tractor. It was the second day of the sale. He said I had all day yesterday to look at it.I told him I wasn't there the day before.I decided to leave. As I was going out the front gate the guy at the gate was yelling at some guy who wanted in to load something. Not very nice people.

Can you imagine how many calls they get on tractors before a sale? They'd need a bank of telephone operators to answer everyone plus the auctioneer probably doesn't know anything
about the tractors anyway.

The auctioneer's phone number is for calling to schedule an auction, not to ask about something that they know nothing about.

Auctioneers just sell the tractors. They don't own them generally, but even if they do they've never worked them in the field to know if there are any problems.

Even if they did talk to you about the tractors you would only get glowing reports about them. After all they're trying to sell them for the most money possible.

If you want to know about the tractor you call the owner of the tractor, if the phone number is provided in the auction ad. Otherwise you make the trip, look the tractor over, and judge for yourself.

you mean they cant tell if the tractor has pto and 3 point ---pretty dumb wouldnt you say and if it aint polks it don't sell to good --might want to ck it out---call aumanns and mecums and you will get answers but both more reputable firms
