What do you do with old diesel? I have a 5-gal can full; hasn't been opened for probably 10+ years. Still has that 'fresh' aroma! *lol* Can and fuel has stayed in a cool and mostly dark place all these years. Don't really have a use for it (burning, etc), so wondering how much fresh fuel it would take to add this to, or would that even be recommended?

How long does diesel last for a diesel generator?

I have used 10 year old diesel and/or heating oil with no problems. I did just take some heating oil out of a house basement
that I think is 30 years old and that DOES smell and look pretty bad. Much depends on clean and water free the diesel was to
start with.

In a 1990s or older machine, I'd use it.

In a new emissions type machine, I wouldn't use it.

I would not be afraid to use it in my tractor being just 10 years old. I had a 60 year old 55 gal drum about 3/4 full. It still smelled good and had a color not like todays diesel. I used for parts cleaning, starting a BBQ fire at the local Oct Fest. It even worked for my steam cleaner. I don't think I used it in my tractors, but probably could of. Stan

I got 10 gal. in a 15 gal drum from friend last fall. It was on some property that he bought. I siphoned some off into a milk jug from near the bottom to check how clean it was then siphoned 5 gals off and used it. When I get a chance I will repeat.
