Dump truck and strange spark plugs

I just got a 1968 F-500 for free! Trying to figure out the which engine it has. It is a V-8. 190 hp. Funny thing about the plugs is back four plugs near fire wall lean toward front of truck. Front four plugs lean toward rear of truck. They kinda point at each other.

Any one know how many cubes this engine is?

Yep and if those plugs have been in there very long you'll likely need a good man with a gorilla helper to get at least a couple of them out. Anti-seize on the threads when reinstalling is a good idea. Weird plugs? Boy I must be getting old, in my day Ford trucks with those engines were a dime a dozen.

The old Ford FT engine, very similar to the Ford FE engines found in Ford cars, and light trucks. Had a truck with a 361 FT engine, gutless, and a gas hog. Still good engines as long as you are not in a hurry to get somewhere. Even if you don't use it much change the oil, and filter on a regular basis because the one big flaw in those engines is the oiling system, They designed it that the crankshaft, and rod bearings are the last to receive oil (what they were thinking when they did that who knows). I suggest putting a good mechanical oil pressure gage in it to keep a good eye on the oil pressure.

In that year and model truck that should be a 330MD (medium duty engine) but 190 hp is wrong for the 330.
The 190hp motor should be a 361.
The problem is there are very minor differences on the outside of this motor family to tell them apart.
And many things have been changed around by others in 50 years.

You could start with the 4th digit in the vin number.
C = 330 M/D - D = 330 H/D - E = 361 - F = 391
That will at least tell you what the truck originally came with.

Then you could move to the motor vin located on the front of the head on the passenger side.
In some of them the only way to tell them apart is by the code on the harmonic balancer.

You are right! The plugs will not budge! We only got two out. Trying to get her started. Changed oil, fresh gas, new battery, tried to do new plugs but was only able to change two! Turns over nice, just will not fire. Even with starting fluid. Guess I'm going to check into new points and such.

Any super hints on how to get the plugs out?

Thanks for your time! Should be original, only has 40k but you never know. I'm gonna go check. The get some work done.
