So this new to me IH584 is a machine that if I didn't know better you can get dirty just by walking by it. I sear it throws grease and oil at a person just by getting with in 10 feet of it.

every machine I own does that and even before I was old enough to own anything. Thus my nickname the Grease magnet .

yep, I can sit in the seat of my backhoe and touch nothing and I will have grease on something

Yep, they all seem to do it to me!

But I've known a few (very few) people that can work all day in a white shirt, go home without spot! Still a mystery how they do it!

790 New Holland forage harvester......good machine, but grease it before you greases you.... Ben

What I have now is super slow but I can get by for a bit till I find an older computer with EP or some such system in it. Windrows 10 eats data so it is super slow

Dad owned a garage in town,Mom said I could not even walk into the front office without getting dirty.I was about 11 when he sold out.

I've heard my Dad talking about mechanics like that. Some would even show up in a white button up shirt!

I worked with a guy, who came in clean, and went home clean. I saw his method. If he was assigned a dirty job, he'd look it over, and call out,"How do ya do this?' Someone nearby would go over, and grab onto the thing and say "well ya just do this, and this ,and this, soon the other guy had it done, and the first guy didn't even get dirty!

Probably just about any loader tractor used to look after cattle. If your not loading manure your driving through mud after a bale lol.

Yep...everything I work on. I can get filthy doing absolutely nothing. I work with a guy who's like the fellows several of you have mentioned that never gets dirty. ( in this guy's case its mostly because he does very little) I told him that one day I'm going to roll him in the floor so he goes home at least one day dirty.

SP125 IH combine 123 fittings and open chains and chaff soaked with thrown oil. Major grease every 2 days and daily chain and straw walker lube. I itch thinking about it. Jim

A guy I used to work with, said he couldn't talk about roofing tar over the phone, without getting some on him.

If I get out of the shower and start thinking about working some piece of equipment I have to turn around and wash the grease off of my hands.

Just bought a New Holland TC45 with FEL. Was well-maintained. Used it some for the first time this weekend. Every time I got on it, I'd grab the loader support to get up. Yup, left hand got greased good every time I got on it. You'd think I'd wisen up but nope, every time. It got to the point that I was looking over the thing to figure out what kind of cap I could put over the area.
