What plow to use on a 47 John Deere D

What kind of 3 bottom plow should I use on my 47 John Deere D. I do not have hydraulics.

I pull 3-14 with my 36 D. J.D.#55 and it works real nice.

Any trip style drag plow will work. Ben

All D's had fairly wide tires so you probably need at least a 14" bottom and more likely a 16" bottom. 12" will not work with your tires. Correct model for your tractor would be a 55ABH with it being sub cattagorie of either A or B as H is the hydrolic version. I think that plow came out in either 45 or 46, would have to dig out the parts book to know actual year and if it would be the A version or the B version. Now if your ground is very hard to plow then a 44 in 2 bottom or if you just want a plow to take to plow days as the 2 bottom will haul easier.

I pull a #55 3x14 behind my 1951 D

its a 3/16's plow tractor,and they pull them no problem in ordinary conditions.
