Anyone own or been around a Hesston 45-66 DT? Picked one up at an auction today its apart in 3 major pieces and lots of small pieces, its 4WD so I was thinking maybe trying to put it
back together, mainly bought it to get the loader with it.Not many Hesston tractors in my area know its Fiat built.

Used to work on two of them for two different customers, both fwa, the big one was 120hp or more, clutches did not last long I thought,, it also twisted a steering pump,, that guy kept it maybe a year at most, he got tired of the repairs, the other was a smaller one 70-80 hp fwa it was a good little unit and needed few repairs in the five years or so I worked on it before it was traded , I did not care for the small cabs and doors myself, and I felt they were not easy to see out of both had loaders on them,,

I do know Fiat still carries most all parts or at least my dealer told me they could get anything for them, but sorry I do not know any thing about the little ones like that, without a cab would solve a fair amount of cussing if something breaks lol
cnt

The larger ones seemed to have clutch problems. I would not put much money or time into it. You will soon be upside down in the tractor as the resale market is about zero.

They are pretty good little tractors, we have two, one was bought new in 84 and has been used for everything under the sun with no major problems. It has a loader and aside from a few leaks nothing has been done to it. Really good on fuel and starts well in winter. I would not be afraid to use one.
