One of them weeks

All stared a week ago tomorrow.

Back tire on my 335 had a wet spot on the rim. So I takes it off the tractor and head to the tire shop. Tell the guy to just put a new tube in and fill it with beet juice. He says it'll be ready Monday. I say cool. I went ahead and took the drum off to check the brakes and find they need changed too. I haven't spent a lot of money on this tractor in a while so I'm not mad. Come Monday morning at 8:00 I call the "NEW" local dealer and tell them I need these brake shoes. Parts person says we don't stock many parts for the older tractors but I can order them. Have them a week from Wednesday. Hung up and called Messicks. Ya we got'em and you'll have them Wednesday. I also ordered a power steering filter, o ring, and seal. Wednesday around mid afternoon FED EX drops them off. I open the box and find the filter,o ring ,seal, and 1 brake shoe. I ordered 2. In maybe 30 seconds I got Messicks on the phone . Parts guy says we should have caught that. Says I'll get it right out and we'll eat the shipping. FED EX tracking shows Saturday delivery.

I changed the filter today. I thought she was steering hard. Pulled the old filter and my dad had it was dated 1-86. Kinda had a moment seeing my dads hand righting. I think I felt a thump on the back of my head too for letting it go so long. He's been gone 18 years. Put everything back together and fired her up. Steers with one finger at idle.

Now here's what I cant' figure out. The filter came with a o ring and seal . $15.92 . I ordered a seal and o ring not knowing they came in the kit. The o ring was $13.29 and the seal was $13.29. They go back tomorrow. I recommend Messicks 100%. They can get it from Pennsylvania to Illinois in 3 days or less every time.

I never got upset or threw anything one time. Must be getting mellow in my old age. LOL

I hope that the back of your head still hurts this morning, LOL. I endorse Messick's as well. I can almost always get my parts faster from them than my local dealer.

(quoted from post at 04:56:30 08/25/17) What model tractor is that ? And what all does Messicks handle parts for ?

Only 335 I'm familiar with is Ford. I think they were a pretty common tractor that Ford sold to municipalities, at least around here. There were a couple of them in the neighboring village's maintenance yard until probably 2010 at least.

Just go to their site, They have maybe a dozen brand logos on the front page.

Shipping and handling on small parts is incredibly expense. many times I have ordered small gun parts where the shipping costs were ten times the cost of the part. It costs a warehouse just as much to pack a cheap small part as it does a large expensive part.

You're doing better than me. I'm getting so nerved up I can't even sleep at night. Still haven't heard from the insurance company about the wreck the wife had a week ago Wednesday in a car we'd had for just a week and an hour. Some white trash on her cell phone ran a stop sign. She was able to drive away, but when I went to the body shop to check on it Wednesday,Larry said they told him they wanted to total it because the air bag went off. Like I said,I haven't talked to them yet to see what we can work out.

I rented from Enterprise to take that trip to Tennessee since we didn't have a car. I was gun shy so when the agent asked if I wanted the extra coverage,I instantly thought about how fast you can run in to trouble because of somebody else's stupidity. I asked him how much it was? He said the rental is $26 a day. The extra coverage is $36 a day. Now what does that sound like to you? Like the extra coverage is $10 a day and the total is $36? That's what it sounded like to me. I even asked him how much extra it would be on my card. He said "nothing,we'll just take it out of your deposit". The deposit was $250. I got back and found out the extra coverage was an additional $36 a day and the deposit didn't even cover it all. I owed another $1.51 and wasn't getting my deposit back.

The wife did some checking,it looked like Michigan's no fault law had been changed in 2012 so we could sue the woman who caused the accident,in small claims court for up to $1000. She even called the courthouse and they said we could. The other woman's insurance company called here yesterday morning to get my wife's side of the story. She wasn't here and I made the mistake of answering the phone. The guy told me I couldn't sue for anything except the deductible, and since State Farm had waived the deductible because it wasn't my wife's fault,we couldn't sue for anything. I wasn't even done with him when he hung up on me.

So then, still in a rage,I went out to grind feed. I backed the grinder up to a wagon in the driveway, got off to swing the auger around and heard tires squalling in the road. My first thought was calf, dog or cat in the road. I looked around the wagon and saw a guy throw a large cup of ice out the window toward my yard. He jumped out of the truck and started stomping back down the road toward the driveway with his phone in his hand. I walked halfway out and asked him what was going on? He didn't even look at me,just turned back around and stomped back. Wasn't but a minute,I saw a woman's feet along the passenger side like she was sitting on the edge of the seat.

I was grinding and watching off and on. When I looked one time,I saw her come up out of the ditch. Didn't see her go in,but saw her come out. Next thing I saw,she was on her knees on the other side of the truck, then down on her belly. She got back up,but pretty soon, she was down again. It was starting to get apparent to me that he was kicking the sh!t out of her. I came in and called 911. Before long there was 2 state cop cars out front and they had them separated. They were there for a good hour and a half. I still don't know what was going on. Somebody came and picked the woman up and a tow truck came and impounded the truck.

With all this BS going on,I was ready to move to the absolute dead center of nowhere and have everything I need delivered by Amazon drone. Did I mention how much I hate people sometimes?

You could definitely write a good old fashioned Country western song,,we are waiting,What else could happen?,hope you don't get hit by a train Or get drunk and rowdy .....(Lol)

I have had some small parts shipped but it is hard to believe that it has ever cost as much as it costs me to drive to the dealer to order it and another time to pick it up.

Never heard of a 335 in Ford but Moline had a 335 tractor, one size smaller than the 445
