Oil Pump Replacement on Ford TW5

From what I understand you need to slide the whole front bolster forward... but I've never had the pleasure so I can't confirm. Ask on the
Ford Board. Bern will know for sure.

Rod

I have removed the pan of my 9000 which shares the same motor. Yes, The front Bolster bolts onto the oil pan so you need to remove two bolts from bolster to block, thread two 8-12 inch longer ones in, then remove the bolts going into the pan. The long bolts serve as rods to slide the bolster on. Put a stout floor jack under the pan. It weighs in the neighbor hood of 100 lbs. When you go to put it back on there are some eight different gaskets available from $12 to $100. I got the cheap one and applied permeatex to the mating surface of the pan so that it maintains a little movement ability. It shows no leakage after five years with some significant abuse.
