MF 135 steering tube

Hi In trouble again; I pulled the connecting tube loose from the steering arm to the pitman arm to split the tractor for clutch replacement. I then turned the tie rod wanting to replace it with new because I was forced to separate it with a pickle fork while hammering on the socket joint.
It is locked in a position where it will no longer seat in the steering arm. Part of the problem is it has not been moved in forty something years; I let it soak with PB Blaster and it doesn't want to go either way.
I cannot figure out if the hex end is welded to the tube or not. I assumed it was the adjustment for tie rod length. Does anyone want to share how this should be turned?

The hex nut between the tube, and tie rod end is a jam nut to hold the tie rod from turning. You have to loosen the jam nut then unscrew the tie rod end from the tube. One end of the tube is right hand thread, the other end is left hand thread. Look at the threads on the tie rod ends for which way they turn to loosen, the jam nut is screwed onto the tie rod itself. They have the right hand thread on one end, and left hand thread on the other end so you can adjust the length of the tube (it's called a drag link) without having to remove either end of tie rod from the arms to adjust the length.

(quoted from post at 10:33:49 08/22/17) The tie rod ends that have the angle to them at the arms of the steering box those jam nuts should be left hand thread.

Thank you pt
It has been odd how difficult this was to figure out. I was wrenching the jam nut and trying to loosen the tie rod end. I will now try holding the tube and loosening the jam nut first. Nothing seems to beat experience; thanks again.
