Looking at maybe adding a Fordson Super Major to my tractors. My Oliver 770 is my biggest tractor and gets a lot of use-- looking to get something that will mean I have to switch implements less often. I've looked at the stats on tractordata but am wondering if someone with experience with both these machines could say which actually has more hp at pto-- or about the same?

I can't say different than what the official tests are but if you are in North America I would say the parts situation is better on the Oliver going by what one Ford guy told me years ago. Good 4000 and 5000 series Fords are not that expensive unless you are super tight on money. Work clothes 4000 or 5000 would be under 5,000 dollars unless they recently got new rear tires.

Horse power wise they would be about the same. The Oliver is more of a row crop tractor and the Super Major is more a utility tractor. The only trouble I see with your plan is that parts in the US can be a problem on the Super Major. Ford does not support them very well and there are not enough of them around for there to be lots of aftermarket parts like the other Fords have.
