OT Eclipse Sylva NC

I'm planning on driving out to Sylva to see the eclipse since its the closest totality for me. Anyone in or around that area? I imagine it will be a circus getting in and out of town. Several parks and parkway sites listed but I figured the Walmart parking lot would be just fine for me.

I would never hang around Walmart. What would people think if somebody that knew me , seen me in a place like that.

My parents moved to Sylva when my dad retired. Great little town. Go up to an open area on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Probably get a clearer view. Sylva is in the "Smokey Mountains".

The parkway is my preferred choice but I suspect it will be a complete log jam.

Ye! I have seen too many of those people of Walmart videos on the internet. Won't find me in or around that store.
