This is what I do with our old 333 every barley harvest season to tell myself it's paying its way lol nice to have it out running and doing something it's designed to do.

Thank you,it's a bit rare. Somehow there used to be 3 of these within 5 miles from here years ago, still 2 in this area. Dad bought this one because it was similar to their 33 diesel they had way back when.

A 33 diesel is even more rare. My dad had one, row crop wide front, 3 pt hitch, lpto, etc. Found out after it was gone, that it was one of 46 tractors so equipped.....sigh. Ben

Wow,with those options likely would be 1 of 10? Dad said their 33 was a wide front too not sure on live pto or not? The 333d that's no longer in this area had an industrial loader when new too they used to move snow around the train station in winter and farm work the rest of the year. The 333 we have is missing the 3 pt arms and has standard pto.

Centash ..... I'm wondering why the 33 diesel would be more rare than the 333? Massey Harris made about four times as many 33's as they did 333's. I assume they made more 33 diesels than they did 333's diesels ..... but I don't know that for sure.

From what I've read the diesels were new to 33's shortly before they remodelled them into 333's? I've read 33 diesel numbers were in the area of 45-50 and 333's were around 150 before they got scraped when MF was born? There's places in the 333's castings it's stamped MHF.

That's just what I remember reading out of a Massey book years ago lol I don't know how accurate it actually is but its in the ball park I expect? I hope it's ok I butted in on you asking Ben but your quite welcome

Not a problem at all. I should visit this forum more often since I have a MH20 standard. Since most stuff is MF these days, I usually find myself mostly on Tractor Talk for some reason, but there's a lot of off topic stuff there, too much actually. Years and years ago, there was more Massey Harris threads here I think.

There's still a few MH guys left but since it's been 60 years since the last one was made its amazing how many people you meet in public that knows something about tractors that had no idea Massey Harris ever existed. There was a guy on the Massey forum one time named Harris Guy,I wasn't on here much for a few years so I'm not sure if he's still around or not. The 20's were really nice tractors too. A good friend and neighbour of ours has an 81 which I could very well be wrong but was an earlier version of the 20? That 81 was the first tractor ever on their farm, memory says it's a 1945(?) and they traded it years later. About 15-20 years ago they found it. They had a local shop almost completely dismantle it and replaced and or repaint every single piece of that tractor. It was the first absolutely every nut and bolt restoration I ever saw. It still looks like new today.

I think there were about 150 33 diesels made, a relatively short production run. 333s were made for about3 years and diesels became more accepted as time went on, so there were more 333s made, but still less than one thousand. Ben

Yes, 81 and then 82's ..... then 20's and finally 22's in that series. I think there were some subtle differences and I always wondered why they had so many models of essentially the same tractor. Do you have some MH iron in your inventory? There were lots of MH tractors up here in central Alberta, Canada. Model 44's were more than common and you still see them for sale all over the place and at auctions, etc. Where abouts are you located Philip?

Yes there were lots of different models a lot alike, the 44 and 333 were quite similar too. We're located on the western end of PEI ,mostly potato country in these parts with a few dairy like we have. The 333 is the only MH we have, have a restored 44 2N Ford and a running but not restored 56 Oliver 66 and a 2 sod plow to fit the Ford. We run a 3505 MF that's pretty much an antique now too and a 550 MF combine almong with a couple later model new Hollands. There were some narrow 30's in these parts back in the day quite a few Farmall's and a mix of just about everything else. Dennis Gallant at D&M Tools has a vast collection of MH and some other brands, some restored some running some not. Do you have other iron besides the 20?

Yes, a '45 Farmall model A .... still in it's original work clothes, needs a motor job but I prefer to add oil and watch the gauges closely. My mother was from the maritime area ..... she was born and grew up near Mader's Cove in Nova Scotia. My dad was in the Navy in WWII and I was the result of all of that, I grew up in Edmonton and live just a few miles east now. The wife and I were down in that area in '99, trip of a lifetime, what a beautiful part of this country. I still have a number of cousins down in Mahone Bay.

Very nice, thank you it's nice out here except the winters lol My wife and I take the occasional trip to Nova Scotia, very nice there too. We're hoping to get out of the Maritimes someday before too long but the cows keep us pretty occupied right now.

One thing we'd love to do is take a train through the praries during grain harvest season,a 200 acre field is huge for PEI
