'07 Ford Ranger Front Hubs 4x4

When I jack up the front wheels and turn he wheels, I have noticed that the axles turn also. I thought the hubs locked in and out electrically, Are mine failing to lock out?

The grease in the hubs is thick stuff so if your turning them by hand yes the axles can/will spin a bit just because of the grease

IIRC on an 07 there is no "locking hub". The CV shafts are splined directly into the wheel bearing and live all the time much like a Chevy truck CV shaft setup.

If you want locking hubs I think you can swap to 98/99 unit bearings and CV shafts, and then add aftermarket manual locking hubs.

There's no hubs on the 07. 98-2000 or so was the end of that ba$tard system. From there on they have a live shaft; only shift was at the transfer case.
