John Deere 2030 or 2020

I think all Deere 2020's had engines smaller than a 219 (180 gas and 203 diesel?), and I thought both the tractors and their engines were still made in Dubuque, Iowa.

Could be. This tractor has 2030 decals on it. A diesel engine and I have seen a few 2030s that look like it. Just trying to sort it out and identify it as a 2020 or 2030. Then I can work some of the problems. Thanks for the help. I do appreciate it.

2020 used a 180ci engine (gas), 202ci diesel. 2030 used 219ci gas, 219ci diesel.
The European tractors built in Mannheim Germany with engines manufactured in Saran France are plentiful here in
Canada. Don't let that bother you, parts are still readily through any JD dealer.

Looks like the 2020's had either a 180 CID gas engine or a 202 CID diesel engine, the 2030 had a 219 CID engine.

Since you are looking at the engine tag are we too ASSUME the tractor tag is missing?

Tractordata says to look for tag "ight side of grill or transmission case".

I will give this tractor a good look over this weekend and try and locate the tractor tag. The tag I saw was on the engine and as I changed the oil last weekend I noticed it.

Are there any other identifying marks or engine numbers that I can look at to determine the size?

Thanks again. Phil

Could also be a 2120 which is the Canadian version of a 2030. A 2020 will have
noticeably smaller rear planetary housings on the rear axle. 2120 only came in diesel
and late models had independent pto and the stubbier nose piece vs. The more pointy
hood/grille on 2120 or 2020. Ben

There should be info engraved or stamped into the casting just below the radiator side grills. Usually something just ahead of the right rear axle too.

I believe that 180 gas is the same engine that the late 45 combines used. Disel probly same as the combine used as well.

Found the data plate.
Made in Germany

Code T5H30 Serie Number 021094L

Googled it a few times and nothing.
