Darn Rabbits.

Had plants by garden in shaded area, waiting for fall to plant. Looks like something chewed off stems. The small teeth marsk make me think rabbits eat them. Now we have to rethink where to plant them.

Buddy,

You can have all the rabbits you can catch or shoot.

Darn lazy cat isn't doing her job. You can have her too.

I live in a residential area, same place for 46 years. I don't remember seeing a rabbit very often until about 15 years ago, now we see them every day almost. They get into my garden, this year they levelled off my young bean plants as they emerged from the ground. I covered the rows with stucco wire and they did recover, beans will be later than usual this year though. These are urban rabbits, it's not like their migrating in from the surrounding rural areas, they are born, live, breed and die right here in and around the houses. Not sure where they go to die, only came across one carcass over the years.

My property on the North side of Terre Haute has very little critter problem.

Totally different story at south end of town. Both places are in country. North end is only 3 miles from city limit. South end is 12 miles out. Deer, coon, rabbits create most of my problems.

I had rabbits in my garden in town but never saw any damage from them. The deer loved green and lima bean sprouts, and green tomatoes. The ground hog ate every single melon one year. I bet he would have tasted good.

I'd rather have plain old fried rabbit or hossenphepper than anything from the garden. You are lucky! Not that many rabbits here!

Live trap em and send them to me. Not may rabbits left around here. When I was a kid I would tramp through briars and brushpiles and dad would shoot a mess of them. This summer there seems to be more than in the past years. I have my tame rabbits in outdoor pens and early in the morning the wild ones are the cage eating spilled food. I have a mule in the pasture between the woods and barns and she keeps everything away so maybe the rabbits have a chance. Not seen a stray dog or yote in a long time.

ive got a couple of wabbits here in the yard yet i dont see them in the garden when i come in from work in the morning.... however, i do have rats. BIG too, make good targets

Your Imperial Magisty ,

I have white clover in yard, which rabbits eat.
They prefer red clover in garden over other plants, except they do like to munch on beefsteak tomatoes over all other tomatoes.

I think the rabbits wanted more fiber in diet. Why else would they much on bush like flower?

Need to plant this bush next to house where cat can keep an eye on it.

Is it possible squirrels could be munching on the bush? I see more squirrels than rabbits running around.

Thought about you making maple syrup operation when I bought maple bacon syrup.

(quoted from post at 04:00:06 07/17/17) What would be a good bait to put inside live trap?

I pulled up a bunch of white clover from the lawn and used it as bait in a live trap. I actually caught a young rabbit. I rebaited the trap with some lettuce and an ear of sweet corn. No luck at all with that combination.
