Some times there is just so much you can do. Then you have to let go. Bandit is 12 years old, with a few problems. He eats, and it just goes through him. He is getting skinner each day. His kidneys are failing also. The vet says nothing more can be done. So to day the wife and my self decided to have him put down. Bandit had a good life with good food and good care. He will be added to our pet cemetery, with our other dogs, and cats. RIP Bandit. Stan

Sorry to hear. We have an 11 year old female cat named Darcy who has been diabetic for two years now and we learned two months ago that she has cancer. She could go at anytime.
 
Sorry to hear that. Let's get one thing straight I don't like cats but there is a 20 pound calico in the house that sure likes me. She sits with me every night in the chair as I watch TV or read and then gets up and follows me to bed so she can lay across my leg all night. Wakes me up on the weekend around 6 so I can feed her and then she goes back to bed even if I don't. Greets me at the door every day when I get home just so she can have her snack. Will not have anything to do with anybody else but me. Did I say I don't like cats? Sorry for your loss. Go get anouther one they are the best!
 
We lost a barn cat that we had for 17 years. Had been doing poorly for several months. One day he just faied to show up. Wonder what happened to him - guess I know. Dog is 9 and beginning to show his years. But then so am I.
 
Sorry to hear.

We once had an old Siamese tom cat, Magoo, that was a member of our family for 16 years. He's been gone 30 years and I still expect him to jump on my lap when I'm reading the paper. I swear that cat thought he was people like everyone else.

Our daughter now has a registered Siamese, a 5 year old spayed female named "Simi". Amy took Simi to the vet for her annual checkup the other day. The checkup included clipping the points off of her claws. Simi was having none of it. They had to sedate her to get the job done.

Amy once said, "The good thing about Siamese cats is they're smart. The bad thing about Siamese cats is they're smart.
 
Makes me choke up again. I just lost my border collie about a month ago tomorrow. It still makes me choke when I think about him. I do know what you're going through- and will for some time. Too many good memories and funny stories. Yup- they do grow on you....
 
It is so hard losing pets. They are family.
When the Bear and Miss Kitty are gone, We will not have any more.

I know it takes some time for the grieving process and maybe you may decide to get another cat. The pet shelters are overflowing with stray cats.

My sincerest Condolences on the loss of your Pets. I KNOW YOUR PAIN.

Six and a half weeks later and I'm still finding it very difficult to get over the untimely death of my Bambi Goat, as we were together 24/7 all of her life and went everywhere together. To ME, Bambi was much more than just a Pet, because I was raising her as if she were my own Daughter.

Later, after my emotions settle down more, I plan on getting another Goat. I strongly recommend that you folks also get yourselves another Pet of your choosing. Nothing will ever replace the ones that we've lost, but a Pet certainly helps to reduce the daily stresses that we all face in our daily lives.

. I had a cat that I liked better than some people I know. Yep Old Burton was a good friend. Never got another pet as they don't last long enough and I don't need boughten grief.

I had a house cat when I was a kid. I was the last lonesome kid remaining at home with older parents... so that cat was my "bestest" friend. :)
