Oliver 60 Row Crop Governor issue

I have an Oliver 60 Row Crop that I think is having governor issues. Starts and idles fine at the lowest throttle setting. When I click the throttle lever up even one notch the tractor screams to a super high RPM. Not sure how the governor on this works or if there are any known issues. Anyone know what I should be looking for? thanks

There's a brass washer behind the drive gear in those. It's common for that to wear out. That lets everything slide back too far. If you unbolt the housing and pull that shaft and gear out, look and see if that washer is in there. I've seen them wear that gear in an eighth of an inch in the back side from being run with that washer worn out.

Thanks for the info. I will look into that as soon as i have a chance I hope that part is still availible

Well you need a little more information & help! First of all the thrust washer is not available anymore. You use the one for a 77 or 88 which is a better material washer. The part number was K-289 but that has been changed. You need to check several more items as well. MY e-mail should be open. J>

I believe there is an updated bushing for that. Korves has it.
