I am very sad to say the Oliver mower pamphlet did not get to rr lund,I mailed it along with a Lancaster farming newspaper,I put the pamphlet in the middle of the newspaper and bought a big mailing envelope from the post office. The envelope had sealing tape on the end of it.I sealed it in the post office, the man weighed it and sent it on its way,It arrived at rrlunds open,,the newspaper in the envelope,,the pamphlet missing. When I got home from the hospital,I read the sad e mail from rr lund.

Too bad. One Christmas the son sent us an envelope with two Amazon Gift Cards enclosed. Wife got the package and it appeared it had been tampered with AND THERE WAS ONLY ONE CARD INSIDE. Nice of them to leave us one I guess grrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Get and stay well Larry

It had been resealed. There were two narrow strips of tape around the end. It probably got picked up off a Post Office floor somewhere. I just wish there was a way to use the tracking number on it to find out where.

If you're into conspiracy theories maybe there is an Oliver collector that works at the post office and reads things at YT(LOL)
Talking about Lancaster Farming back in the 80's we had a mailman that was a farmer and my LF always would come on Tuesday looking a little worse for wear when he was on vacation
it always arrived on Monday and looked perfect.

There may be if you insist they try.

sad to say that's about what you expect form postal service any more.
our local rfd guy does great once mail gets past him who knows

say what you want about the postal service, in my over 50 years I can only think of 2 times I never got what was sent. that's not bad for the amount of paper they handle

It normally takes them weeks go thru there union process of determining who's job it is to pick it up off the floor.

My bet it's still laying on a floor somewhere.

I've sold parts and buy any reasonable purchase I can on-line. I've never had an issue and the cost is minimal. I think a whole lot of stuff you hear on the post office is of the "old wives tale" variety. After spending 27 years in the freight industry I can tell you their performance is pretty outstanding. gm

Larry and Lund seems as of late I have had issues. With a business there is lots coming and going. Things get sent to wrong place takes days to correct. A few times I have mailed a check and it vanished in thin air never to be seen again. (no fraud attempt either). And a few items came looked like local football team used them for punting practice!!!!

Myself,I think it went through a sorting machine or something, and it tore the end flap open. The brochure probably fell out somewhere along the line and the envelope was long gone down the line before anybody found it and had a clue where it came from. Like I said, somebody did tape it shut so nothing else fell out,it's just a dirty rotten shame that somebody couldn't have found it and known where it belonged. Not saying that there was any way for anybody to know.

USPS has fallen on hard times, I guess. I seem to have a different carrier every day at my office in town, and delivery time is sometime during the calendar day- sometimes after I have gone home for the day. Got an important envelope from Kansas (I'm in Washington), it took 8 days (one day after I needed it)! A local company that sends and receives a lot of mail (rent checks from 1800 units) says they estimate it costs them about $100 a month in check and receipt re-issues, staff time, etc. for lost or misdirected mail.

That does sound sensible,,the post office is close to us here,I'm gonna go tomorrow and take the tracking slip,,maybe they can check, its worth a try.I was sure disappointed to hear the news.

Do you have any of those pictures of it that you posted online? I don't know, but it might help if they had a copy of the picture to know what they were looking for.

About 3 years ago in 6 months time USPS lost 5 different items that I won on ebay...One was a real
hard to find tractor magneto...They determined that one of their own employees stole it in
Cinncinati,Ohio..Since then they've done pretty good..

Well, Larry, it ain't Stines Corner, but next time drag your self and the goods over here to the Mitten. We'll get together and show you a good time and some good old tractors! And, no, hanging out in the hospital (or was it a SPA?) is not a valid excuse!

forgot about this. I bought a set of torx sockets of ebay. The seller shipped them in a small flat rate box. I got an empty box in the mail. I took the box to the PO and asked what happened. The OIC said it looked like an employee ripped the end out of the box. She said the small flat rate boxes get tampered with a lot because people buy iphones off ebay and use Small boxes to ship the phones. There was a new phone just released when I bought my sockets.

I guess I'm just lucky. I get super service out of USPS and usually items arrive ahead of schedule.

I bought over 200 items off ebay the last few years and not one had a shipping issue....most of the items were small and supported my model train layouts....lots of bubble pack envelopes. I can count on one hand the amount of mail I'd receive that belonged to the next farm down the road in that time frame. Just put it back in the mailbox with the flag up and USPS does the rest. Personally haven't had one thing missing, like the light bill or other regularly scheduled postage.

Course on the junk mail, they can loose all that they want....good riddance. Ha! Since I locked down my credit reporting agency files, have had no harassment from credit card companies trolling for suckers.
