A friends chopper has went into slow mode will not go over 3 mph. Anyone else have an issue like this? He's thinking a sensor or connection. Going over this morning and figured maybe someone on here has had a similar experience.

I"ll text my son about that issue- he worked on them for JD for years...he"s an excellent diagnostician, often doing that by phone. Watch for a response by schriffs.

sounds like what they call 'limp home mode'.... (in a car) In my Van I had to replace the forward computer.

Is the harvester corner post reading 3mph, or is the 2630 (or other GPS) reading 3mph? If the speed sensor isn't working correctly, it will often limit travel speed.

My son works on choppers all the time for his job. He said there should be a code your friend can read on the corner post display in the chopper. That code should tell them what is wrong. Respond back if you would like more help from my son. He said they deal with that problem quite often, he had one just this morning.

I'm guessing it has the prodrive transmission, i can't see the picture very well. Most likely it would be a pressure or speed sensor. It probably has at least one error code, the code would give you an idea of what to look at.

Thanks for all the replies. He changed 2 sensors and it is working. When I got there he was just getting done. Started raining like crazy again so didn't get to talk much.

Greg,, this has nothing to do with your post, but I would appreciate it if you would e-mail the phone number of the "Radiator Guy" in Cobleskill. I have about exhausted all other options for the recoring of the fire damaged radiator in the Case 310G dozer that I am reviving.
Thanks --Loren

Loren, I haven't tried email yet but phone # is 518-234-9325. I have had good luck with him but others complain he 's to slow. He has fixed at least 4 tractor radiators for me and none leak. I bought a radiator that laid on the ground at Mcfaddens for $100. My wife asks is that guaranteed not to leak. I said for that price its guaranteed to leak! It did and Bob fixed it. My HG recore was around $300.
