Holley Carb Experts??

Have a F600 we use around the place. No tags on the truck. Has a Holley 2300 that gives trouble. Will a 2100 fit the mounts. The ones you can buy on ebay for less that hundred dollars new. A 2300 is close to $250. Thanks, LB
 
If you by one be careful, depending on the Venturi size it can be from 190cfm to 424cfm. Not to mention jet sizes.

Flat top Ford 2barrel CFM by venturi size --
.98=190
1.01=240
1.02=245
1.08=287
1.14=300
1.21=351
1.23=356
1.33=424
 
Just what is it doing or not doing . Most times it is either the acc. pump or the power valve . If it stumbles on giving it gas then it is the acc. pump . If it is hard starting and doggy then it is the power valve . Power valves fail due to the gas or a backfire thru the carb .
 
Actually doing both those. It always ran bad on the acceleration but since I don't use it on the road it was usable. A dependable idle is most important as it has a 55 ft bucket truck bed and you can't get down very easy if the engine dies.
 
You could replace with a Ford two barrel carburetor. Some of the trucks came with Holleys and some with Ford. Pickups came with Ford.
 
I would lean toward changing it to the Ford Autolite carb.

Holleys are prone to leak gas, especially one that does a lot of sitting. The bowl gaskets dry up and shrink. They can leak internally and externally.
 
The Autolite / Motor Craft carb.'s will do the same thing as OH guess what they have a power valve and a Accelerator pump just like the Holley . Plus there is day and night difference between a TRUCK engine and a PICK UP engine . Jetting power valve and CFM . He could have a 330 Med duty , could be a 330 heavy duty , could be a 360 med duty or might be a 360 Hd. could be a 389 or a 390 or how's about 391 or it could be a 379 . Myself i don't know as i have not seen the truck or engine . One thing i do know is Ford Mo Par and I H . Around here when someone has a carb problem it end's up here
