preformed brake lines

Cheaper and easier to use NiCopp brake line. Super easy to bend and form, and easy to run though the frame. It can be a real pain to install preformed lines.

Depending on what it is on many come preformed and some are just the one size fits all. I have picked up more then one brake line from O'Reilly's that was prebent to fit to fit just one car or truck

Nickel copper alloy is a rust proof material that meets pressure specifications and is easily formed into shapes that follow the original path and brackets. Preformed lines often are made perfectly but are attached with the body or suspension removed (read during assembly). Jim

A few years back I replaced all the brake lines on my 2003 Silverado 2500HD with preformed stainless steel. At the time I bought the kit on Ebay. Nowadays kits are widely available, just do a little searching on the Internet for your application. Dorman seems to be a major player.

I bought a complete stainless steel brake line kit from Classic Tube in Lancaster New York. I didn't put them on but I only paid 6-1/2 hours labor to have them installed along with both front brake calipers, both rear wheel cylinders and a brand new master cylinder, plus all three flexible brake hoses from frame to calipers and frame to rear axle, so they must have fit pretty well. The guy did a real nice install on them.

Every preformed line I have ever bought has been a bear to install. Discovered Nickel Copper line and watched a few youtube videos on flaring. Will never buy a preformed line again. ebay is a pretty good source for Nickel Copper line in almost any size.

Thanks guys. Dad was in a hurry to get it done so he got some of the nickel copper line with the fittings already on it. Easiest line replace I ever did. The line fittings even fit the truck fittings.

GM has them for pickup trucks because they have such a high failure rate from rust out the price is pretty cheap , routing a couple for install is a bit of a pain but a lot less work than forming and flaring your own.

This is another one of my "pet peeves" The government mandates all sort of safety features from air bags to seat belts and back up cameras etc. and so on.
But what better safety feature could there be than a brake line that does not rot out so when you need it the most it holds up !
