Hey Body Guys

The grill on my '94 Topkick is starting to look pretty shabby. Not only is the paint coming off, but the plastic? underneath is kind of soft/chalky on the surface. I sanded and painted it when I got the truck 12 or so years ago. I don't think I want to try it again. Way too many nooks, crannies, and corners. It's a lot worse now than I remember it last time.

Any easy way to get it back to solid material that will hold paint? Something like soda blasting? Some sort of chemical cleaner?

Thanks for any ideas.

blast with soda or walnut shells, low pressure, would be my first choice. Walnut shell is more available/cheaper.

I think you will find that the plastic is actually rotting. Can you buy a new one or after market. The whole thing is going to crumble. Ultra Violet rot.
