Had a good time at the Gabeline sale in Iowa. It is a five day sale but we just stayed for two. They sold the high dollar cars on Monday and the high dollar tractors on Tuesday morning. We got there on Sunday afternoon for preview. Here are a few of the prices--will post more later. Ford Jubilee with flathead V-8--$50000! M.F. 97--$2000--One with front wheel drive--$16500. M.F. 98-Same tractor as a Oliver 99 but with different grill--$18000. It was stuck at $10500 and I bumped it to "my high end limit to $12000" but it zoomed on by me. 5020 Deere with FWA--$36500. Cars--Stutz Black Hawk--$122000. 58 Chevy convert.--$80000 74 Corvette-blue. I had a 70 blue one when we were married-wife wanted it--$17000. The wife kept track on Mondays car sales--$2.6 million...Sullivan Auctions is a class act!!!---Tee

Dang, I like that 74 Corvette !
My ex "girlfreind"s Dad was a small town Chevy dealer and had a red 74 Vette when I was going to college. Thanks for the memories (I think) !!!

I rate C3 vetts as the worst of the bunch I am supersized it fetched that much... Its rare I see a nice one most are worn out junk...
Bumper to bumper the worst engineered car I have every worked on...

go on sullivan site its all list with prices. and auction live. grew up in his territory he had his grain buying tricks lets just say back in the day. you had to be aware. be alot in dumpsters looks like also.

People have that kind of money to buy things they don't really need but as soon as you mention paying taxes they scream bloody murder and run for the hills.

I hear ya Brutus. It's like the people who fly off to Europe for three weeks spending all kinds of money (theirs or someone else's) and then they gripe and whine about paying $25 for an extra suitcase. Never could figure that out.

Just wondering - the owners who were selling, did they ever do anything with all their machines? Were documentaries made? I would guess many of these tractors ended up in calendars and magazines, and maybe even a tractor program or two. But just wondering if there were ever any professionally-made documentaries made that showcased these machines and their time/place in history?

Back when we had satellite TV, I'd often watch tractor shows on RFDTV, but haven't had that for several years now. Guess I need to go look on Youtube and see what's there. Does anyone have any suggestions?
