Memphis tractor shows

I am going to be in Memphis for the month of july and have never been anywhere in that part of the country. I'm looking for places like shows or museums to see within a couple hours drive. Thank you for any and all suggestions. chuck.

Beal street blues clubs{ Rum Boogy Caf?]. Gibson guitar factory tours, trolley around city. Mississippi river museum . Graceland [ or just Graceland car museum if you don't want to see the house.] If you weld you have interest at the Ornamental Metal Museum Those are all right in Memphis.

Nashville, 3 hours away, has a museum that boasts the worlds largest collection of all origonal cars. Memphis has an ornamental metal museum where they forge things by hand. If you come through Bowling Green KY, you need to tour the Corvette factory. Ride the riverboat in Memphis.

So I geuss the whole story may be helpful. My wife is deporting me to our sons house, so that our daughter in law, her best friend with her daughter plus the two grandkids can go to diesneyland 3 days and legoland three days without grandpa being around to have a melt down. BUT, neither of us have been to the memphis area and both will go again later,So I can't go to any of the places WE might go together! That leaves out some of the good places I would go. The guy places like the car museum and the metal museum are what I'm looking for now. Going out to Nashville will be one of the couple things. Anyone know of a private tractor collection I might see??? Thanks for the response. chuck.

Dixie Gun Works Union City, Tenn. Makes cannons, guns etc. Old car museum & other interesting stuff. Turner Kirkland founded it, died in 1997. I saw him there on a visit in 1987. You really gotta go. Has a good website.

Another great idea! I am not much of a hunter but I shoot a lot of NRA matches like Varmit and twenty-two long range at ncsapala. This is the best range i've ever shot. The only rifle range in Memphis is private and very expensive and no public access. Would be great to find a range in the area, thanks! chuck.
